Dress code a tougher test for NEET aspirants

Hopefuls needed to evacuate ear rings, desert shut shoes and slice shirt sleeves to enter exam corridor

With only 30 minutes left for the principal National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) to start on Sunday, a young lady understudy at Army Public School in Bengaluru confronted a startling emergency — she was not able evacuate her hoops in a rush.

The competitor had crossed paths with the strict clothing standard for the CBSE-regulated NEET exam, which banned hoops. Remaining outside the exam lobby, the young lady battled with a stuck screw.

Her restless father surged her to a goldsmith close-by and got the decoration cut. There was a moan of alleviation as she made it back just before the 9.30 a.m. due date.

Many applicants around the nation had not set up to meet the NEET clothing regulation, which disallowed full sleeve shirts, pens, pencils, shut or high-heeled shoes, enormous ornaments and metal catches.

At Delhi Public School in Bengaluru, the experts kept a load of two dozen T-shirts for the individuals who came in full-sleeve shirts. Understudies wearing shut shoes needed to doff them and go unshod, said Nehith Ravishankar, at a Kendriya Vidyalaya.

A wannabe's dad in Alwal, Telangana, said the directions alluded just to substantial hoops yet authorities needed young ladies to evacuate even ear studs and nose rings. Some young men needed to slice their full-sleeve shirts to half sleeves in Chennai.

In Andhra Pradesh, hopefuls were checked with metal identifiers to check whether they had any contraptions. Ladies needed to unfasten their hair to show they didn't have disallowed articles.

No dark jeans

A hopeful at Kunhimangalam in Kannur, Kerala stated, "It was frightening as I needed to expel my top internal wear when the metal finder beeped." When she came at 8.15 a.m., she needed to change her dark jeans, as dull hues were not permitted. When she came back with new garments, just 10 minutes remained. The innerwear check was the following obstacle.
